The company also won the Craft and Activity Toy of the Year and the Australian Development Award for Qixels, and Girls Licensed Property of the Year with Shopkins.

Moose Toys bagged the top honour at the annual Australian Toy Industry Association’s Toy of the Year Awards this year.

The company took home the 2016 Toy of the Year for its Qixels 3D Maker, plus the toy also won the Craft and Activity Toy of the Year and the Australian Development Award.

Paul Solomon, co-CEO at Moose Toys, said: “We are immensely proud to receive three awards for the Qixels 3D Maker.

“We saw an opportunity to bring the excitement of gaming into the craft and activity space, encouraging children to bring their virtual world into reality.”

Khia Pledger, brand manager for Qixels at Moose Toys, added: “Leveraging the popularity of pixel based gaming and adding an element of construction, we have developed a means for kids to create amazing 3D designs in a captivating and innovative way.

“The Qixels range and Qixels 3D Maker are part of a new ‘craftstruction’ category which stimulates imagination and develops fine motor skills.”

In addition, Moose Toys also won Girls Licensed Property of the Year for its brand Shopkins.

Dianne Bellchambers, head of licensing at Moose Toys, commented: “This award is a testament to the strength of the Shopkins brand being able to easily transform from toys into lifestyle merchandise.

“The team at Merchantwise has played a pivotal role in growing the Shopkins brand outside of the toy aisle.”
