Georgia's Total External Trade Turnover with Turkey Totaled $520.14 Million

In the first four months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, totaled $520.14 million, including exports of $67.54 million, up 29.7 percent, and imports of $452.60 million, up 16.79 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In the first four months, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked first among Georgia's exports to Turkey, amounting to 29,687 metric tons, up 70.21 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $14.19 million, up 70.35 percent year on year. Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had only amounted to 17,441 metric tons in the same period of 2013.

On the other hand, in the January-April period this year, Georgia's imports of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of iron and steel from Turkey increased by 69.93 percent to 13,191 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $10.90 million, up 53.61 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
