The Subaru BRZ Premium Sport Package special edition has been revealed ahead of its exclusive home market on-sale in December.
Based on the already STI parts-equipped BRZ S, and touted as a sports car for the “playful adult”, the Japan-only Subaru BRZ Premium Sport Package takes its name from a concept car that debuted at January’s Tokyo auto salon.
Fitted with black 17-inch STI alloy wheels, black-topped mirror caps and available in a range of colours including Satin White Pearl and WR Blue Mica, the new variant misses out on the concept’s 19-inch BBS wheels and significantly upgraded brake and aero packages.
Inside is dominated by a new tan and black theme, with the leather-wrapped steering wheel, green-stitched and BRZ-branded leather seats, door trims, instrument binnacle cover, handbrake lever and gear lever boot all matched accordingly.
Adding ‘premium’ touches are Alcantara shoulder pads, satin silver trim highlights, a carbonfibre-like dash panel, a red STI engine start button and aluminium pedals.
No more sporting than than standard 147kW/205Nm Subaru BRZ, however, the Premium Sport Package is mechanically unchanged and again teams the existing naturally aspirated 2.0-litre ‘Boxer’ four-cylinder to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Limited to 100 units a month, the Subaru BRZ Premium Sport Package will start at 3,034,500 yen ($32,700).
