GM Has Decided to Stop Producting at Its Michigan Plant to Decrease High Inventories

General Motors has decided to halt the production of Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, at its Michigan plant to reduce high inventories.

GM North America president Mark Reuss said that GM has trimmed production to better balance output with demand.

The company stopped production to reduce the vehicle stocks of 788,200 units, which includes 25,700 Sonics and 14,900 Veranos, reported autonews.com.

GM has also stopped production at its Chevy Cruze assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio and at its plant in Fairfax, Kansas, which manufactures Chevy Malibu and Buick LaCrosse.
