Sesa Goa Received Permission From The Monitoring Committee

Tags: iron ore, mineral

Indian iron ore producer Sesa Goa has announced that it has received permission from the monitoring committee appointed by India's Supreme Court to resume mining activities at its Karnataka mine.

Accordingly, the company has commenced its mining operations on December 28, in line with the stipulated conditions.

In April this year, the Supreme Court gave the clearance for resumption of mining operations for A and B category mines in Karnataka. Mining operations were halted in the Bellary district of Karnataka state in July 2011 due to illegal mining and environmental impact.
