Visitors to drupa 2016 will experience a conference program called 'the drupa cube' which forms part of the show's offering.
With an emphasis on print and cross-media solutions, the cube's seminars will address the topic of innovation in print.
Drupa director Sabine Geldermann says the potential of print is seen in new technologies such as printed electronics and 3D printing, creative multichannel applications, and the use of digital printing techniques in packaging.
Each presentation slot in the cube conference will combine various themes using best-practise case studies, exploring functional printing, packaging printing, 3D printing and sustainability, and multichannel offerings.
The strategic and creative design of the program will be handled by brand experience agency FreemanXP. Its brand experience vice-president Jordan Waid says co-creation is key to the industry's future, and the new intersectional approach to the cube at drupa will create a collaboration hub for all facets of print.
Participation in the cube program will be free for visitors to drupa, included in the day ticket price.
