Turkey's Stainless Flat Steel Imports Decreased by 4.95% in October This Year

In October this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports decreased by 4.95 percent compared to the previous month to 39,637 metric tons, following the 0.44 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in September, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The country's stainless flat steel imports were up 42.19 percent on year-on-year basis in October. The value of these imports was $89.20 million, decreasing by seven percent as compared to September and up 28.62 percent year on year.

In the first 10 months of this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 390,428 million metric tons, increasing by 30.41 percent, with a value of $923.72 million, up 19.21 percent, both year on year.

In October this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports from Taiwan decreased by 25.74 percent, while imports from South Korea surged by a massive 253.95 percent, both compared with the same month of the previous year. South Korea thus ranked as the top source for Turkey's stainless flat steel imports in October.
