Egypt s state gas company EGAS is to reduce on the amount of gas factories receive to keep electricity plants running instead during the peak summer months, Reuters has reported. The company said it would divert around three million cubic metres per day of gas away from cement and fertiliser companies. Analysts have warned the government could risk discontent if industries are forced to lay off workers as they wind down production.
