Aggreko, a temporary utility service provider, has provided power to the RAK White Cement after production stalled when one of its gas turbines failed, and while standby power was shut down for annual maintenance. Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Co. For White Cement, which produces around 450, 000 tonnes of white cement annually for clients across the Gulf, awarded the contract to Aggreko for its reputation as a highly agile and reliable provider. Within three days of receiving the call, Aggreko power generators were up and running, providing the client with six MW at 6.6kV for an initial two-week period, which was later extended to three weeks to allow for additional repairs. “We reached out to Aggreko without hesitation as we needed a provider who could be flexible, due to the uncertain timing of the repairs, ” said Chetan Elkunchwar, technical director for RAK White Cement. “Aggreko proved to be an adaptable power provider, addressing our rather urgent needs seamlessly, and ensuring our business could continue without interruption. ” Source: uaecement
