Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor has started production of the new hybrid 2013 Avalon sedan in Georgetown, Kentucky, US.
The gasoline variant of Avalon sedan will be powered by a 3.5 litre DOHC V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle and produce an output of 268hp and 248 lb-ft of torque.
According to the company, the new sedan can accelerate from 0-60 mph within 7 seconds and offer an EPA-rating of 25 mpg combined.
Toyota's 2013 Avalon hybrid sedan will be powered by a 2.5-litre, Atkinson-cycle, four-cylinder engine, a 244.8-volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack and a pair of electric motor/generators in the transaxle which will offer a total system output of 200hp.
The Avalon Hybrid offers three modes of operation including Ev, Eco and Sport as well as offers a combined 40 mpg EPA-rating.
