Geneva-based interactive developer, Tourmaline Studio, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to deliver the next gen in toys-to-life play.
The firm has taken to the crowdfunding site to raise a goal of $30,000 towards the manufacture of its new toy-gaming hybrid title, Oniri Islands – Children of the River.
Borrowing from the toy-to-life technology made popular by the likes of Skylanders and Nintendo’s Amiibo, Oniri is a co-operative experience in which players use two figurines of the game’s heroes Mina and Tim to drag along the screen and explore the island together.
Players must find hidden items and solve puzzles while earning unique powers that are represented by masks that can be placed on the figurines.
“We are extremely excited to launch Oniri Islands on Kickstarter so we can gather further support to make final touches on the game in time for its launch in November,” said Marion, co-founder of Tourmaline Studio.
Oniri Islands – Children of the River is scheduled for release in Q4 2017 on both Apple and Android tablets for $35.
The starter pack will include two figurines alongside the app, delivering a storyline inspired by Peter Pan’s Lost Boys in three chapters full of vibrant imagery.
