Trade Resources Industry Views Lindam Munchkin Is Hoping to Increase Its Toy Offering

Lindam Munchkin Is Hoping to Increase Its Toy Offering

Lindam Munchkin, which produces a host of baby and nursery goods, is hoping to increase its toy offering.

The company already supplies bath toys – now it wants to use its specialism in this sector to help it branch out into other nursery and infant toys.

It is also open to partnering with a toy distributor, with the aim of showcasing a range of products at next year’s London Toy Fair.

"If we can reach a distribution arrangement with a company, then we’d potentially be open to this,” Lindam Munchkin’s EMEA MD Robert Mann told ToyNews.

"At the moment we’re already in the market with bath toys and ultimately we would look to extend that expertise into other areas as well. Potentially into nursery and infant toys for the six to 18 months age category."

UK-based child safety firm Lindam was established over 20 years ago. It was acquired by Californian-based toddler products manufacturer Munchkin in January 2010.

Mann was recently appointed as MD of the company. Before that, he held several positions in the toy industry including president EMEA at Toystate International, president and CEO EMEA at Tomy Europe and international MD for RC2. He now wants to expand Munchkin’s portfolio across Europe.

"In terms of the UK it’s about taking the Lindam franchise and really extending the Munchkin product portfolio across the Lindam customer base, particularly within the areas of feeding, bath play and safety," he added.

"And then a larger positioning is taking both Lindam and Munchkin into Europe, developing our existing markets which are currently the French, Spanish and German areas, with a particular expansion into other EMEA countries including the Eastern block, Russia and the Middle East."
