LyondellBasell has added the new RC3000 to its Toppyl family of polyolefin resins for the food packaging industry, which provides a new level of convenience and ease of use to ready to eat products.
Designed to stick directly to traditional polyethylene food containers, the new RC3000 offers a strong seal to keep foods fresh, as well as easy to open and close. It will avoid the use of hot melt adhesive for food packaging.
Packaging made with Toppyl RC3000 will be easily reclosed and remains sealed, and also satisfies all food contact requirements in Europe.
LyondellBasell PB-1 specialties marketing manager Stefano Pasquali said, "Toppyl RC3000 provides a strong seal to keep foods fresh for easy storage and handling of delicate food, including meat, fruit, vegetable and cheese."
LyondellBasell produces polymer products such as advanced polyolefins, compounded polyolefins, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, homopolymer polypropylene, impact copolymer polypropylene and random copolymer polypropylene.
The company's 58 sites in 18 countries are involved in manufacturing items such as food packaging, electronics, automotive parts, home furnishings, construction materials and biofuels.
