Energys' Save it Easy converter range
Energys Group, an energy efficient technology supplier, and Smart Eco Energy, a renewable energy specialist, have announced a partnership with a leasing company to provide a new funding scheme for school lighting upgrades.
Under the agreement, Utility Rentals, a UK-based equipment leasing company for schools, will provide an operating lease that enables schools to benefit from energy saving technologies with no upfront fees. The leasing scheme requires no capital investment and allows the school to pay for the equipment from the energy savings achieved.
A statement by the Energys Group said the funding scheme would support the use of a wide range of energy-saving lighting solutions, including LEDs.?Energys' retrofit lighting converter Save It Easy, which allows T5 fluorescents to be retrofitted into luminaires that were designed for T8 fluorescents, will also be available as part of the scheme.
Kevin Cox, technical director at Energys Group, said: "There are still thousands of schools using old and inefficient fluorescent lighting and recent budget cuts make the funding of upgrades almost impossible.
"The Utility Rental lease scheme offers an innovative solution to funding challenges: instant energy savings with no upfront costs. Using this scheme we can specify the correct solution for the school using a mix of retrofit technologies, new light fittings and LED and deliver it without any need for capital investment from the school – and in most cases there is a significant cash benefit due to the dramatically reduced energy bills."
