IPP Announced The Purchase and Acquisition of a European LDPE Production Plant

Global buyer and seller of surplus manufacturing facilities, International Process Plants (IPP) has announced the purchase and acquisition of a European low-density polyethylene (LDPE) production plant.

The plant, which is available immediately to be acquired, relocated and operated elsewhere, produces LDPE resins that serve the consumers of those products including polyethylene film applications, extrusion coating and injection molding.

Three polyethylene production lines of the plant have the capacity to produce up to 4.5t per hour, resulting in an annual capacity of about 110,000t. The lines can produce more than ten different granules with melt indexes ranging from 0.3 to 65dg/min.

To produce grades with purity and optical properties, the LDPE production process uses a high-pressure reaction.

Coating packages for food, injection mold-produced container caps and closures will be made using the outputs.

The polyethylene manufacturing plant also produces LDPE resin grades that are used as carriers in masterbatch and compounding applications.

IPP director of plants Michael Joachim said the plant represents an opportunity for polyethylene manufacturers in LDPE producing regions such as the US, Western Europe, the Middle East and China to capture the growing global demand.

"With recent PE expansion projects costing approximately $200 to $400 per ton of production capacity, buyers of thisplant can acquire extra capacity at a fraction of the cost and time it would take to build a new polyethyleneproduction facility," Joachim added.
