Anyone in The Bedding Industry Can Now Access The Sleep Geek Website

Anyone in the bedding industry can now access the Sleep Geek website to learn the latest on connecting with customers and increasing sales.

Leggett & Platt's Bedding Group has revamped its Sleep Geek website to give industry players easier access to the retail sales associate-oriented site.

L&P launched Sleep Geek 3.0  last week as an open platform to more easily allow for sharing and commenting on mattress items, the producer said.

The new site no longer requires account registration to view the content, opening it up to anyone in the bedding industry who may want to learn more about how to connect with their customers and increase their sales, the company said.

Sleep Geek aims to provide a one-stop resource for information about the bedding industry. The site is dedicated to enhancing professional development and educating RSAs and retail managers on sleep and bedding, while also introducing an element of fun with entertaining videos, featured articles from contributors who are leaders in their field, technology updates relevant to the industry, and even a comic strip, L&P officials said.

The updated site includes events in which people can participate, such as webinars on how to use social media, Skype interviews with industry leaders, and open discussion groups on how to be more effective on the selling floor. The 4,000-member site allows users to interact with each other and connect with the bedding community.

The site was modeled after some of the most trafficked sites on the Web, including news and information sites, L&P officials said. Sleep Geek 3.0 features a fresh perspective and insight on the bedding industry from new writers, including RSAs, Internet experts, and marketing professionals, L&P said. Visitors to the site are encouraged to share their ideas and become involved, whether they agree or disagree with the topics.

"If we, as an industry, are going to get better at selling products for the bedroom that can improve sleep quality, and therefore quality of life, then we need to learn from each other," said Mark Quinn, segment vice president of marketing at L&P. "We have purpose-built this community for that very thing. It is now much easier to navigate and features incredible new content with many ways to learn or simply be entertained. There isn't anything like this available and we are excited to share it with the industry."

The only section of Sleep Geek 3.0 that will continue to require account registration is Geek University, a free training program built to educate RSAs about the mattress industry.
