PTT Global Chemical Limited, Thailand's largest and Asia’s leading integrated petrochemical company, has announced that its mono ethylene glycol (MEG) plant at Map Ta Phut in Mueang Rayong District would commence operations next month.
The company said the operations at the plant were scheduled to begin around two years earlier, but the project was suspended in late 2009 owing to environmental concerns.
The new plant will have a production capacity of 95,000 tons per annum.
MEG is used as a raw material for making polyester fabrics.
