MakerBot, the desktop 3D printing specialist, has embarked on a mission to change the way people view the medium with a new MakerBot 3D Ecosystem.

The team has taken to Las Vegas’ Consumer Electronics Show to present its collection of 3D printers and help educate people on the possibilities of 3D printing of the future.

The team’s 3D Ecosystem expansion consists of new materials and partnerships as well as services, all to help make 3D printing easier and more accessible to more customers.

2014 marked a ‘huge’ year for the firm who brought three new MakerBot 3D printers to market and welcomed new licensing partners, including Sesame Street, Uglydoll and Hello Kitty.

Furthermore, the firm brought a range of desktop 3D scanners to more than 500 retail stores throughout the US and Europe.

“That is a lot. For 2015, we are focused on enhancing the overall MakerBot 3D Ecosystem by listening to our users, fine-tuning our 3D printers, iterating our software and apps to unlock their full potential and make 3D printing even more interesting and accessible,” said Jenny Lawton, CEO of MakerBot.

“CES 2015 is different for us in that we are focusing on creating the most comprehensive MakerBot 3D Ecosystem to support our cusomters.”
