Self-adhesive label materials provider UPM Raflatac has unveiled a new range of label stock products for wine industry.
The firm's new Ice and Ice Premium products are designed to meet the standards of the wine industry in the European market.
Additionally, the products ensure that labels retain their original look and feel even in the cold and wet environments on the wine bottles.
UPM Raflatac wine and spirits, food labeling solutions manager Jay Betton said: "Label designers are increasingly using textured papers with visual and tactile depth to connect with consumers, but their hard work is all lost if the label turns gray when wet or on ice.
"Our Ice and Ice Premium products have been designed and rigorously tested to showcase wine brands at their finest.
"When combined with premium-quality label faces, our Ice and Ice Premium products will help label suppliers add real value to their customers' premium brands with attractive labels that can withstand cold, wet and humid conditions."
UPM Raflatac said that the Ice range products are capable of withstanding temperature fluctuations and stay free from peeling, curling, edge lifting, or wrinkling.
Additionally, these products have a level of wet opacity which ensures the label materials, inks and varnishes, as well as embellishments such as embossing or foil-stamping, remain as solid and vibrant as when dry.
Recently, UPM Raflatac launched new PP White FTC 60 and a food-approved version of its Vanish ultra-thin, clear PET label face material, expanding its range of food-safe labeling products in the European market.
The PP White FTC 60 top-coated film is designed for labeling applications on rigid packaging.
Employing around 2,900 people, UPM Raflatac supplies high-quality paper and film label stock for consumer product and industrial labeling.
