UL Is Notifying Authorities Having Jurisdiction Electrical Contractors and Consumers

November 22, 2012 - UL is notifying authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), electrical contractors and consumers that the fluorescent ballasts identified below may pose a fire hazard, as they do not comply with UL’s safety requirements for Canada or the States.

The warning involves fluorescent ballasts, Model/Cat.No: DBAG-13P2C and SY-213HPF. It involves about 1300 units manufactured by TDC Power Products Co. Ltd. of Taiwan. The units were manufactured between 2003 and 2010. These ballasts may overheat, posing a risk of fire.
