Lexus, a luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Toyota, is planning to unveil its new LF-CC hybrid concept coupe at the Paris motor show to be held during late September.
The new front-engine, rear-wheel drive hybrid concept coupe will be powered by a new 2.5litre 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle direct injection petrol engine mated to a water-cooled permanent magnet electric motor.
Features of the new hybrid drive system include a generator, an enhanced battery, and a power split device which employs planetary reduction gears to merge and restructure power from the engine, electric motor and generator as per the requirements.
The carmaker is aiming a CO2 emissions rating of below 100g/km, while the powertrain is claimed to achieve enhanced energy efficiency by offering about 2hp output per gram of CO2.
Lexus revealed that the will soon launch the new 2.5litre hybrid powertrain into its model range.
The carmaker is also planning to unveil its new LS 600h F SPORT during the event upcoming event in France.
