Taking Center Stage Is The All-New Pulsar

Ambition, confidence and passion are three qualities that define Nissan's presence at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Taking center stage is the all-new Pulsar – a car that marks Nissan's return to the C-segment. Designed and engineered with the same unique approach and philosophy that produced Nissan's market-leading crossovers, the Pulsar makes its public debut at Paris.

The arrival of the new Pulsar gives Nissan its strongest and most complete line-up in its history. Combining class-leading cabin practicality and space, the Pulsar also reinforces Nissan's commitment to bringing new technology to the sector. In addition to innovations such as Forward Emergency Braking and LED headlamps, the Pulsar features Nissan's acclaimed Around View Monitor and Safety Shield - a comprehensive suite of safety technologies that includes sector-first Moving Object Detection.

Paris also sees the Pulsar range shown in its entirety, with the most powerful 1.6 DIG-T 190 model unveiled for the first time. Featuring a number of unique design features, the 190PS model gives the Pulsar line-up a sporty, dynamic edge.

Further exploring the performance theme is a dramatic new Pulsar NISMO design concept. Making its global debut at Paris, the design study showcases the sporting potential of the new Pulsar and combines striking looks with a collection of finely engineered NISMO performance and aerodynamic features.

Created to showcase the performance potential of the new Pulsar, the Nissan Pulsar NISMO design concept makes its global debut at Paris. Combining muscular looks with a host of NISMO engineering and aerodynamic features, the striking design study fully explores the Pulsar's sporting possibilities as Nissan investigates new and exciting ways to develop its NISMO road car range.

The launch of the new Pulsar marks the brand's 12th launch in as many months - an incredible achievement. What makes this even more remarkable is the fact that Nissan is also driving forward its development of new technologies in exciting new sectors of the global automotive market. Nissan is building on its leadership in zero-emissions sector with the successful launch of the new e-NV200 electric van, and remains committed to bringing autonomous vehicles to the market by 2020.

Nissan's ambitious new product drive and the ongoing success of its current range are taking the brand's European production volumes to record levels. With more models reaching more consumers in more markets than ever before, Nissan is on track to become the number one Asian brand in Europe by 2016. Key to this success is Nissan's growing base of European production hubs in Russia, Spain and the UK that support local economies and bring innovative and exciting new models to market.

The 2014 Paris Motor Show also highlights Nissan's ongoing development of the NISMO brand, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. In addition to the Pulsar NISMO design concept, Nissan is also unveiling a fully updated 370Z NISMO model. The new model features a number of key engineering and design updates that combine to deliver an even sharper and more engaging driving experience. The new model benefits from technical upgrades developed as part of the GT-R NISMO project, with the end result being the sportiest production 370Z ever offered.

Another new NISMO model guaranteed to set pulses racing at Paris is the new JUKE NISMO RS. Having made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the latest evolution of the acclaimed JUKE NISMO appears at Paris ahead of its showroom debut in December. Shown in full production form, the 218PS JUKE NISMO RS features a host of engineering and styling updates that deliver an even more focused drive.

And it's not just the cars that make NISMO one of the most exciting and forward-thinking performance brands, as the new NissanConnect NISMO Plus telemetry system proves. Making its public debut at Paris, this remarkable technology allows GT-R NISMO owners to recreate their driving performance from the comfort of their own home via Sony Computer Entertainment's Grand Turismo 6 game. With numerous features that allow drivers to analyze their driving techniques, NissanConnect NISMO plus delivers pro-level telemetry without the considerable price tag usually associated with such technology.

Nissan's desire and passion to change the way cars are envisaged, designed and used is further highlighted by the appearance of the IDx Freeflow and IDx NISMO concept cars. Making their European debuts at Paris, both IDx models were designed using a "co-creation" approach that allows consumers to become part of the design process.

Designed by and for the "digital native" generation born after 1990, the IDx Freeflow and IDx NISMO models showcase an alternative approach to vehicle creation. Visitors to the Nissan stand can experience the design process via a specially developed Oculus Rift 3D virtual reality headset.

Completing Nissan's list of Paris debutants is a new Qashqai special edition. Celebrating the ongoing success of its market-leading Qashqai , the new SV1 variant brings even more technology within reach of buyers, the SV1 features a host of safety and comfort features as standard, including Nissan Safety Shield and Around View Monitor.
