Thank you to all who participated in the fifth annual DOE Solid-State Lighting Manufacturing R&D Workshop, held June 5–6 in Boston. With more than 150 attendees and two days of formal and informal discussion, the workshop provided a unique opportunity to gain cutting-edge perspective on the LED and OLED manufacturing landscape, including global manufacturing trends and strategies for reducing costs, improving product quality, and increasing volumes.
During the workshop, speakers and participants examined SSL manufacturing issues and discussed proposed updates to the DOE SSL Manufacturing R&D Roadmap. This exchange will fuel the continuing development of the DOE manufacturing initiative, guide final updates to the roadmap, and inform DOE planning for upcoming R&D solicitations.
