Suzuki Swift Range Has Been Updated for The 2014 Model Year with an All-New Model Grade

2014 Suzuki Swift: New Navigator Grade Joins Refreshed Range

The Suzuki Swift range has been updated for the 2014 model year with an all-new model grade and refreshed styling.

Slotting between the previous mid-spec GL and flagship GLX – the outgoing model’s entry-level GA model has been dropped – the new Suzuki Swift Navigator is on sale now from $17,490 driveaway.

Based on the GL, the Swift Navigator joins the top-spec GLX in coming standard with fog lights, lane assist technology, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 6.1-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, voice command and Bluetooth/USB/SD card connectivity, while 15-inch steel wheels complete the package.

Down from its previous $17,490 driveaway price tag to match the old GA’s $15,990 driveaway starting price, the Swift GL continues to come standard with cruise control and a six-speaker stereo with CD player and Bluetooth/USB connectivity – equipment announced in April last year.

Now available exclusively with a four-speed automatic transmission, the range-topping GLX costs $21,990 driveway (up $1000) and adds LED daytime running lights and newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. Keyless entry, push-button start and climate control carry over from before. The GLX also retains its ventilated front and solid rear disc brakes, while both lower specification models continue with rear drums.

All models are powered by the same long-serving 70kW/130Nm 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine, with both GL and Navigator grades offering a choice of the auto or standard a five-speed manual. Fuel consumption is unchanged at 5.5L/100km (manual) and 6.2L/100km (auto).

Considered a stand-alone model, the 100kW/160Nm 1.6-litre four-cylinder-powered Suzuki Swift Sport remains priced at $23,990, though now also features sat-nav.

First seen in June last year, the facelifted Swift adds new front and rear bumpers and a lightly revised front grille. Followed up in July, an all-wheel-drive version remains reserved for the UK market.

2014 Suzuki Swift driveaway pricing:

Suzuki Swift GL – $15,990 driveaway (down $1500, but unchanged from GA)

Suzuki Swift Navigator – $17,490 driveaway (new variant)

Suzuki Swift GLX – $21,990 driveaway (up $1000)
