DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company has announced that it has partnered with RML in creating a new line of alternative preservatives called PolyGuard. The PolyGuard line features the proprietary ingredient Zemea propanediol.
RML designed its new preservative line, PolyGuard, capitalising on the ability of Zemea to boost preservative efficiency along with its proven lack of irritation in cosmetic and personal care products in combination with the natural preservative, e-polylysine, which is derived through the fermentation of bacteria. The PolyGuard line has two preservative blends – PolyGuard BA and PolyGuard CG. PolyGuard BA combines Zemea with other ingredients of natural origin – e-polylysine and benzyl alcohol – allowing for natural preservation in a safe and effective manner. PolyGuard CG draws on RML’s experience in the marketplace producing caprylyl glycol based preservative systems by combining Zemea, e-polylysine and RML’s domestically produced and exceptionally pure caprylyl glycol. These materials are exclusively manufactured for RML by Hampford Research Incorporated.
