China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (April 29-May 5) the average steel price in China decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous week.
In particular, in the given week prices of 3 mm hot rolled sheet, 10 mm steel plate and 1 mm galvanized sheet decreased by 0.8 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.4 percent, all week on week.
In the week ending May 5, average prices of minerals in China decreased by 2.4 percent compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the average prices of iron ore, copper ore, zinc ore and lead ore declined by 2.8 percent, 1.7 percent, one percent and 0.8 percent, all compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 0.5 percent week on week. The average prices of crude oil and coke decreased by 3.6 percent and 0.2 percent respectively, while the average price of raw coal maintained unchanged, all on week-on-week basis.
