Global developer of barrier and functional coatings Michelman has introduced a new water repellent coating HydraBan 420 for paper and corrugated converters.
According to the US-based company, it is an easy to run coating with or without dilution and is FDA-compliant for direct food contact. It is also repulpable and recyclable.
The company has formulated the new coating using a new chemistry to reduce or get rid off foaming and separation issues.
The coating, which is cold set gluable with most adhesives, exhibits good water beading and printability.
Using a rod or blade coater, the HydraBan 420 can be applied in-line on the corrugator from the wet or dry end, and can also be applied by flexo.
