On 6th November, the special conference for Xi'an Airport New Town LED industry base promotion was held in Guangzhou. The Plan for Building Airport New Town LED Industry Base was launched on the conference. According to the plan, Xi'an Airport New Town LED industry base production will be completed till 2020. The base, being to cover all LED industrial chains, will be the largest LED industrial center in west of China as well as the international demonstration area for the trade of LED products. While in operation, it is estimated, the production value of the base can reach over hundreds of billion.
The deputy director of XIXIAN New Area spoke on the promotion. He expressed that with rapid development, China LED industry has changed the development direction from single-mode into multicultural and independent R&D new mode. However due to several disadvantages, the distance still exists between Chinese LED industry and advanced countries' LED industry. For example smaller scales for most LED enterprisel, shortage of core technicians and outdated equipments are all restricting the development of China LED industry. So, in order to realize branding, centralized and large scale development, industrial area is required to be build for cluster development.
Ms. Yao, the office director of LED industry base, introduced on the meeting that there are six advantages for airport new town to build LED industry base in platform, traffic, market, industry, supporting facilities and technical personnel. Further more many preferential policies in land and tax will be undertaken for LED industry. There will be four invested projects in base of R& base, chip manufacture base, encapsulation base and LED products manufacture base. With these bases, the government hope to built a platform for the communication and cooperation among the industrial entrepreneurs and elites.
The LED industry base locates in Airport New Town Industrial Area and is next to the northwest of Xianyang International Airport. The planned area is about 2000000 square meters. The concept of plan is "Three-in- one, common development and balance development" With the development construction of "One Core Two Chips Seven Area" and development strategy of "midstream research and development drive upstream and downstream development" to built a modern LED industrial area.
