MaxLite, a leading global manufacturer and marketer of award-winning MaxLED luminaires and lamps, added Merak LED Roadway Street Light fixtures to its growing roster of DesignLights Consortium (DLC)-qualified products. The performance- and style-driven streetlights are ideal for illuminating streets, roadways, pedestrian walkways, bikeways and parking lots in parks, corporate and school campuses for departments of transportation, utility providers, and municipality and interstate market segments. The DLC-qualified models include 120-, 180-, 210-, 240-, 270- and 300-watt styles in Type III IES distributions in 5000K correlated color temperatures (CCTs).
Bill Fenimore, sales director of MaxLite's outdoor lighting Department, said that MaxLite is proud to welcome the Merak fixtures to the growing list of DLC-qualified outdoor products. Since the series was announced in late 2012, it has made strong inroads in the roadway market segment for MaxLite.
The Merak series is offered in 30- to 300-watt models in Types I, II and III IES distributions that replace 70- to 1,000-watt high pressure sodium cobra head fixtures and deliver up to 26,400 lumens to support main and ancillary streets. These LED fixtures can match the photometric overlay of standard high pressure sodium cobra head fixtures, while operating at a lower wattage, and meet or exceed the lumens produced by the incumbent technology. The fixtures are compatible with controls and sensors for optimal efficiency.
The durable, die cast aluminum fixtures with high-impact and sealed polycarbonate lenses are available with a NEMA photocell-ready configuration. LED modules, each with an independent heat sink, provide optimal thermal management and ease of replacement, while stainless steel latches enable tool-less maintenance. Mast installation toggle and arm sleeve pivots can be adjusted for precise aiming. The fixtures are compatible with controls and sensors for optimal efficiency.
