Blumberg Grain Is Planning to Invest Over $250m to Expand Its Presence in India

Food storage technology provider Blumberg Grain is planning to invest over $250m during the next five years to expand its presence in India.

As part of the expansion, the company will build a plant to manufacture components for scientific warehouses, The Press Trust of India reported.

The proposed facility is expected to create close to 1000 jobs.

Blumberg Grain will also invest in upstream activities like disseminating best farm practices to farmers and downstream infrastructure like processing and packaging facilities.

The company intends to upgrade agricultural supply chain in India and market its storage systems and technology, under partnerships with state governments and the private sector. It will create greenfield warehouse infrastructure as well as modernize existing infrastructure for warehousing operators.

The company offers technologies, such as vacuum sealed organically fumigating bags, or self-generating controlled atmosphere cold rooms for proper storage of products.

Additionally, Blumberg Grain is re-developing its new grain storage infrastructure in Egypt which will allow primary processing of 11.7 million tons of wheat annually.
