Leapfrog's Leapstart Championed by UK Primary Teachers After iChild Research

97 per cent of 200 UK primary school teachers surveyed said they would recommend the device to parents of young kids to prepare them for school.

Primary school teachers across the UK have championed LeapFrog’s LeapStart brand as the device to recommend to parents.

Following a partnership between the toy firm and the child development website iChild, 200 primary school teachers were given LeapStarts to use in the classroom for a two month research period.

Results of the research concluded that 97 per cent of the teachers would recommend the learning device to parents to help develop the skills their children need to start school.

Among the benefits championed by the teachers from 100 schools across the UK, was the device’s ease of use among even their youngest pupils.

A further 91 per cent agreed that LeapStart supported the National Curriculum and was a ‘great asset to any classroom’.

Nearly three quarters of teachers also noted that LeapStart made a positive difference to their pupil’s attitude towards a particular subject.

Sally Walker, managing director of LeapFrog UK, said: “LeapStart has gone from strength to strength since its launch in July and is already proving itself a key player in the market.

“The feedback from primary school teachers truly highlights its unquestionable educational value and the supportive learning role it can play in the home, especially at this pivotal time as parents look for ways to ensure their child is ready for that all-important first day of school.”

LeapFrog has already seen success with the LeapStart device with sales surpassing initial forecasts following what the firm has billed ‘an impactful marketing campaign.’
