Swedish softwood lumber producers are expecting the underlying market conditions to remain difficult in the business year 2012. Participants at this year’s timber industry conference Trämarknaden in Karlstad believe the main contributing factors here include the current problems with the strong Swedish krona, the undiminished problems with roundwood supplies in broad sweeps of Scandinavia, and also the hitherto very subdued statements about requirements that have been received from the relevant international sales markets for Scandinavian lumber.
