China-based integrated solar makers have considered measures to cope with the impact of US anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs, and some of them plan to sell solar cell production equipment to Taiwan-based makers, according to industry sources. Some of the planned sales are to write off accounts owed by China-based makers to Taiwan-based makers, the sources pointed out.
The solar trade war between China, the EU and the US has been causing China-based solar firms to plan to move manufacturing facilities abroad. In addition to issuing OEM orders to Taiwan, China-based solar firms reportedly have intentions to invest in Taiwan-based peers. Some vertically integrated solar firms in China have been considering moving solar cell equipment to Taiwan.
China-based firms have been facing financial problems in addition to facing the trade war from the US and the EU.
