Ilim Group Has Started The Production of Coated Freesheet at Its Mill

Ilim Group has started the production of coated freesheet at its mill, situated in Koryazhma, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia.

With the help of new line built at the mill, the company will annually produce around 90 thousand tons of high-quality matte and gloss double-coated paper, with basis weight ranging from 80 to 150gsm.

The new line has been built as part of the 'Big Koryazhma' project with an investment of around $270m.

According to the company, the coated paper will be available under Omela brand in the form of rolls and sheets in the sizes that are popular in the domestic market.

The company noted that paper samples were presented to the Russian paper products distributors, customers and large publishing houses at Polygraphinter-2013 exhibition held in Moscow.

Ilim has also installed advanced paper machine and an off-machine coater at the facility, to produce around 220 thousand tons of offset, cut-size and coated paper per annum.

The company has started the manufacturing of coated paper in Russia to substitute imports in the country.
