Buryatia and Belarus Have Started a Joint Initiative to Promote "Made in Buryatia" Textile

The Russian province of Buryatia and Belarus have started a joint initiative to promote “Made in Buryatia” textiles. The initiative aims to ensure that the goods from Buryatia are bought by producers in the local textile industry in Belarus.

The main objective of this initiative is to achieve the awareness of the locally produced goods in Buryatia. Under this initiative, the Belarusian Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to identify the most promising areas for trade cooperation with Buryatia.

Minister of Industry and Trade of Belarus, Alexander Grebenshikov, said that ‘Made in Buryatia’ not only serves to promote the local products, but also sets an example of sustainable development, providing an opportunity to the local producers in Buryatia to share their experiences, helping them carve a niche in the textile industry.

Another goal of this campaign is to help promote the local products in large retail chains, according to the Ministry of Industry.

Next year, Burkoopsoyuza, a Buryat-based company, will display products of Azhur-Tex LLc and other manufacturers of Buryatia, at its outlet. Azhur-Tex, established in September 2008, is a company that specializes in the production of knitted innerwear, children’s wear, sportswear, and dailywear for all age groups.
