WSS, the California-based neighborhood footwear retailer, is hosting a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Nov. 15 starting at 10:00 a.m. to commemorate its arrival to Las Vegas. As part of the celebration the first 200 shoppers will receive a WSS mystery gift card, and one guest will receive a $500 WSS shopping spree giveaway.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will officially open the store with beloved Mexican singer Chiquis Rivera and local community dignitaries including councilmembers Isaac Barron and Pamela Goynes-Brown; Clay Overlien, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce; and Stephen Sifuentes, Regional Representative, U.S. Senator Dean Heller’s office.
“We’re excited to bring WSS to North Las Vegas,” said Mark Archer, president, WSS. “We can’t think of a better city to launch our first store outside of California and begin our out-of-state growth. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the Las Vegas community.”
As part of WSS’ commitment to giving back to the communities they serve Archer and WSS executives will present a $5,000 school supply donation to C.P. Squires Elementary School.
“On behalf of the City of North Las Vegas, we welcome what we hope is the first of many WSS stores to our neighborhood,” added Councilmember Brown. “We know WSS is already serving our residents, starting with thousands in school supplies to local school children. WSS is good for business and great for our city!”
The new WSS store, which opened on Nov. 8, is located at 2209 E. Lake Mead in North Las Vegas. The store currently has over 20 employees and will continue to expand. With current expansion plans to open several new stores in the Las Vegas market which will be a boon to the local job market and economy.
Founded in Southern California in 1984 by entrepreneur Eric Alon, WSS has more than 60 stores.
