Port Huron Hospital (PHH) has signed a three year contract to use the CareTech's iDoc Archive solution for secure storage of patient data as the hospital transitions from its old clinical system to the new one.
The iDoc Archive edition offers secure data storage in the CareTech Solutions cloud, complies with all HIPAA requirements.
The company's cloud has been certified by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), in accordance with the applicable certification criteria for hospitals adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services as an EHR Module.
Port Huron Hospital CIO Mark Richard said the hospital is implementing a new electronic medical record system, and converting data from the old system to the new will not be an option.
"PHH evaluated various options for storing the old data, and found iDoc Archive to be the easiest, most cost-effective data storage solution available in the market," Richard added.
