Truckload carrier Transport America Inc. could become the latest publicly traded fleet after a regulatory filing that targets a $75 million stock offering.
The filing late on Dec. 17 does not state how many shares might be offered or what the price could be. The registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is a signal of the company's intentions, but no shares can be sold until the registration statement becomes effective.
The Eagan, Minn.-based company ranks. No. 72 on Transport Topics Top 100 For-Hire Carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
The filing states that the company reported net income of $5.4 million in the first nine months of this year. Its shares outstanding total about 126,000.
