UK-based Linpac has developed a range of plastic retail-ready packaging (RRP), which is a fast-growing segment of the packaging market.
Linpac vice president of innovation Joanna Stephenson said the new range has been developed to enable retailers run their stores with ease and to achieve significant cost savings by reducing labor costs, improving productivity and reducing out-of-stock situations, prw.com reported.
"The growing trend towards shelf ready or retail ready packaging solutions has emerged due to cost down initiatives at the retailer level," Stephenson added.
Demand for RRPs is set to grow more than 40% by 2016, when it will reach 27mt, according to Pira International forecasts.
