LED packaging house Everlight Electronics is expected to see its revenues to rise over 10% sequentially in the third quarter of 2013, buoyed by continued expansion of its LED lighting retail network in China and increasing LED lighting sales in Europe after its acquisition of Germany-based LED lamp vendor WOFI, according to industry sources.
Everlight is also strengthening its deployment in the car-use LED segment, said the sources.
Other Taiwan-based LED suppliers including Epistar, Lextar Electronics, Unity Opto Technology and Formosa Epitaxy are also eyeing the car-use LED market as the development of energy-saving vehicles will push car makers to use LED lighting devices, noted the sources.
Everlight acquired WOFI for EUR6.55 million (US$8.83 million) in June 2013 indicating that the lighting channel market in Europe still looks promising despite increasing competition in the segment, said the sources.
