Staples Installed Two HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Presses at Manufacturing Plants

Staples Print Solutions, a printing division of Staples Advantage, has installed two HP Indigo WS6600 digital presses at manufacturing plants in Wichita, Kansas and Fresno, California, for offering new digital label and packaging.

In order to meet the demand for digital production from customers, the company is expanding its label and packaging manufacturing with digital presses that reduce waste and turnaround times while improving color consistency.

Staples Print Solutions vice president and general manager Jeff Crump said HP Indigo presses allow the company to expand its digital label and packaging offerings.

"With the installation of the new presses now complete, our label and packaging output provides flexibility and added value to Staples Print Solutions' customers," Crump added.

The web-fed HP Indigo WS6600 digital press is said to print at speed of 130 linear feet per minute in enhanced productivity mode, generating labels and packaging with better quality.

With the digital press that can also support a broad media range, Staples is able to print on a variety of synthetic and paper substrates from 0.5 to 18 points thick.

The HP Indigo is also claimed to match up to 97% of the Pantone color gamut with a maximum of seven ink stations on the press.
