The Smart Fortwo by Jeremy Scott has been unveiled at the Shanghai auto show ahead of a limited production run of the quirky winged city car.
Doing its best impersonation of a 1950s Cadillac, the Fortwo by Jeremy Scott – named after its creator, the renowned Los Angeles-based fashion designer – boasts two red-tipped white wings above its tail-lights, embracing one of the stylist’s most famous recurring themes.
The special edition Smart’s safety cell panels, mirror caps and grille are finished in Alubeam silver, while the body panels and 16-/17-inch alloy wheels present in Polar white
White also dominates the interior, splashed across the seats, door panels, steering wheel, gear knob and lower dashboard, while white stitching contrasts the black leather of the dashboard upper.
Black velour floor mats with white leather borders and Jeremy Scott signatures complete the distinctive interior look.
The Smart Fortwo by Jeremy Scott will be offered with three powertrain options: 55kW EV, 60kW Brabus EV, and 75kW Brabus 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol.
Scott said he was thrilled to see his Smart ForJeremy concept, which debuted at last year’s LA auto show, become a production reality.
“I wanted to design something out of the ordinary, something that expressed my dreams and fantasies and that transferred my fashion ideas to automotive design,” he said.
“I see myself driving this car and can well imagine my friends and cool people all over the world loving the unique design of this Smart.”
Production of the Smart Fortwo by Jeremy Scott is scheduled to begin later this month.
