Klausner Holz Thüringen Started to Dismantle The Sawmill Plant in Domat/Ems

At the beginning of October, Klausner Holz Thüringen started to dismantle the sawmill plant in Domat/Ems, Switzerland. Prior to that, the bankruptcy and execution agency in the district of Imboden in Trin had approved the start of dismantling subject to certain conditions. The local authority in Domat/Ems had already granted approval on 4 September 2012 for the building work on the local site of the former large-scale sawmill of Mayr-Melnhof Swiss Timber. While the sawmill machinery, drying kilns and electrical equipment were cleared for dismantling, Klausner has to submit additional documentation for any alterations to the buildings which may become necessary during dismantling of the machinery. In a press release dated 18 July 2012, the purchaser of the works site and the buildings, the company Schweizer Holzindustrie Pfeifer, which is part of the Austrian Pfeifer Group, had expressed the fear that machinery would be inexpertly dismantled or that even widespread damage or ruined buildings could be the consequence of the dismantling work.
