Moosejaw announced several changes to its loyalty program that include discontinuing its High Altitude program that allowed its most loyal customers to earn discounts at an accelerated rate.
"We want the program to be more about recognizing our most loyal customers rather than about points and discount," Moosejaw explained in an email to members of its Moosejaw Rewards program. "For this reason, starting in 2015, we're eliminating the accelerated points earning at different High Altitude levels and replacing it with a bunch of cool new benefits. Stay tuned for a separate email with all the amazing details in the coming weeks."
The Michigan-based outdoor specialty retailer also said it has formalized a "Convert Points to Dollars" program piloted last year that allows loyalty members to combine cash with loyalty points to pay for merchandise.
"For a while now, some customers have been telling us that they get bummed when they don't have enough points to get what they want on Rewards.Moosejaw.com or can't find what they want," read the Moosejaw email. "They make a decent point."
Under the new program, members earn points as normal through purchases, writing reviews, contests, 3X promos, etc. They will receive a monthly email around mid-month updating their points balance as of the end of the prior month. As long as they have at least 500 reward points, they with a special coupon code that converts 500 to 5,000 points into $5 to $50 off on Moosejaw.com. Member must still have enough points available to cover the code at time of redemption.
No order minimum is required to use the code and members can still receive free shipping on orders over $49 after the code is applied. The special codes are live for 30-days or until the next update is sent. Customers can also opt to not use the special code, in which case their points balance will not be affected and they can still use them on Rewards.Moosejaw.com as before.
