Princeton Satellite Systems has unveiled SunStation,a solar-powered electric vehicle charger.
The new electric vehicle charger offers 240 V AC power and can fully recharge a Nissan Leaf in eight hours,a Chevy Volt in four and a Toyota Prius Plugin Hybrid in 1.5 hours.
The high-efficiency solar panels produce the maximum power with the minimum footprint and the station can charge up to two electric vehicles at a time.
The company said that advantage of the SunStations is that they can be installed anywhere,as long as there is enough sunlight.
SunStation will be available in two sizes that include one with four solar panels which will 1.6 kilowatt battery that can be charged in 10 hours.
The company is planning to sell the small SunStation for$27,000 and a larger version for$55,000.
