Turkey's Seamless Pipe Imports Rose 68.3 Percent

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2012 Turkey's seamless pipe imports rose 68.3 percent compared to October and were more than double compared to November 2011, amounting to 25,428 metric tons. The value of these imports totaled $40.5 million, increasing 90.6 percent compared to October and up 80.2 percent year on year. In November, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China amounted to 14,673 mt, rising 61 percent month on month and up 75.7 percent over November 2011.

In the first 11 months of last year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 191,493 metric tons, decreasing 4.5 percent compared to the same period of 2011. Turkey's imports from China in the period in question amounted to 92,528 metric tons, up 44.4 percent, followed by Russia with 24,556 mt, down 37.6 percent, both year on year.
