Latvian sawmill Sia Vika Wood is stopping production for a period of five weeks as from 29 August 2012, in order to conclude construction work on the existing sawmill. At the beginning of October production is to be relaunched in the modernised sawmill. The existing reducer band saw is to be replaced by a new band saw supplied by Swedish company, Soderhamn Eriksson. Furthermore, an Exceltec edging and trimming line by Soderhamn Eriksson is to be assembled. Already in June 2011 two lumber sorting and stacking systems supplied by the Swedish mechanical engineering company, Renholmen, were installed at the location. Source: euwid-wood-products
