Post-press finishing equipment manufacturer Muller Martini will introduce a variety of flexible packaging solutions for printers at the Converting and Package Printing Expo (CPP) taking place from 8 to 12 September 2013 in Chicago.
The company will exhibit the working model of its Variable Sleeve Offset Printing Press (VSOP), which has the ability to change images cost-effectively.
The VSOP is claimed to be a complementary technology for packaging companies that use less-flexible high-volume systems.
Also on display will be products manufactured by the VSOP, including shrink sleeves, wet-glue, wraparound and in-mold labels; films, laminates and food packaging; and folding boxes, liquid packaging and carton printing.
Muller Martini global packaging director Gary Hughes said the VSOP has over 100 installations worldwide and can handle image changes well.
"Packaging will continue to re-invent itself, and Muller Martini is committed to helping package converters successfully compete on a level playing field no matter what formats present themselves," Hughes added.
Muller's packaging product specialists will also discuss Muller's entire packaging line, the Alprinta web offset press, which is effective when tackling the intricate formats found with pharmaceutical inserts.
The Alprinta can handle countless folds and scores, specifications which provide challenges when produced through traditional sheet-fed methods.
Muller will also present its new packaging technology Concepta, which offers better print traditional sheet-fed methods.
