Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel’s production of steel flat products totaled 4.08 million tons in the second quarter of this year, soaring by 21% from a quarter ago, boosted by increased hot strip capacity and higher demand.
Among them, the output of steel flat products including hot rolled coils and heavy plates totaled 2.26 million tons, jumping by 29%; those of steel long products were at 1.82 million tons, rising by 13%, both compared to those in a quarter ago.
In the second quarter, Hyundai Steel’s sales jumped as well. The sales of steel flats and long rose by 27% and 20% quarter on quarter respectively.
