Precision Engineered Products, a manufacturer of surgical devices and components, has opened a new medical manufacturing facility in Dominican Republic, Caribbean, US.
The 5,000ft2 Class 8 medical manufacturing facility is designed for the production of surgical staples.
Precision Engineered Products president and CEO Alan Huffenus said the new medical manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic better positions the company to deliver quality surgical and medical devices and components to customers at the best possible value.
"This strategic investment increases PEP's manufacturing agility, and ultimately improves support of our customers' operations worldwide," Huffenus added.
The company is also planning to expand site manufacturing to include complementary molding, stamping and assembly capabilities, which are in progress.
In addition to Dominican Republic facility, the company has ten manufacturing sites including Bridgeport, Connecticut, US site, which is home to Lacey Manufacturing and Boston Endo-Surgical Technologies.
